Postdoctoral Fellow, Pharmacy and Nutrition (req5040)

Primary Purpose: The Division of Nutrition and Dietetics is seeking a motivated and qualified postdoctoral fellow to conduct interdisciplinary research in the area of nutrition and oral health.

Nature of Work: The successful applicant will contribute to a range of research projects in the area of nutrition and oral health including conducting environmental scans of available resources, dietary intake analyses (including analysis of the Canadian Community Health Survey Nutrition data), and assessments of nutrition care practices by various health professionals.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for different aspects of research projects in the area of nutrition and oral health including drafting research proposals and ethics applications, organizing project advisory team meetings, conducting data analyses, drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, and conference presentations. In addition, the successful applicant will also be responsible for mentoring undergraduate and graduate students conducting research projects.

Education: A PhD in nutrition, dental science, public health, health sciences or another related discipline.

Experience and Skills:

  • Academic writing skills, including experience drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA) and NVivo
  • Previous experience drafting research grants is an asset
